Hello.

Im blogging using their office com.

Stamping's fun. cos its easy.

Life here's pretty good after all :D

There are only 3 things people do here. What are they?

1) Work time

2) Lunch time

3) Free time.

but usually, more often than not, there's a lot of work time, not a lot of lunch time, and no free time at all. ;(

Anyway, while i was stamping, I got dam scared when i saw this.

shucks help. im traumatised. ;(

*the network here blocks particular websites, including all tag boxes. (even facebook!) so cant reply any tags nor tag. ok.

Day1:

~ i'm already exhausted!

in the morning, there was lots and lots of stamping to be done. there were 9 of us. split into 2 groups of 4 and 1 group of 1. i think i can count myself a very unlucky guy. the people there are very friendly though. they let me use msn.

i had to stamp all of that. =(
when i got to the last sheet of paper, i was overjoyed. so i stamped the whole sheet. =]

in the afternoon:
all the clinics of singapore. boohoo. they told me to make sure all the details were correct and to correct it if there were errors.

i feel quite accomplished today. =]

Okay,

As we all know, today is deepavali. yay. :]

How nice, my mum's loyal indian customer invited us over to his house for a great deepavali feast. The experience was pretty cool and well, exciting. I was kinda apprehensive at first, you know since its my 1st ever invitation by an indian to celebrate deepavali together, but their friendliness and hospitality was really re-assuring, to say the least.

I learnt that they use rock sand with ready-made colouring to form some symbol at the doorstep, along with some candles laid about 8cm away from each other in a straight line. I think the purpose is to chase away demons and ghosts and mice.

There was so much on the dining table to choose from, but i only attacked the poor curry chicken. lol. then i dont know how but my mum's indian customer suddenly changed the subject from my job application at raffles hospital for 2wks to mutton bone marrow. he says its his favourite part of the mutton and all his 3 sons love it.

He asked me if i wanted to try. At that moment, i think his wife sensed his excitement and gave me this very very very encouraging look. okay so i said yes.

The mutton and the bone

The bone marrow

I think its dam gross la. but the indians were treating it as some sort of main event, its like 5 of them started crowding around me the moment they heard i was going to try bone marrow for the first (and hopefully last =] ) time. so yah i was under quite a lot of pressure to eat that thing. but surprisingly enough, the bone marrow was so soft and slippery it just slipped right down my throat. i didn need to use my teeth. its a good thing i guess.

also earlier in the morning, i went out with two other p6 classmates to watch hsm3 at lido. nice songs. i think 'rocketman's funny. haha. yep. so thats how i celebrated deepavali this afternoon. pretty memorable. :]

working tml at raffles hospital. 8am to 6:15pm. $15 a day. ok i need this money.

Its kinda funny, when exams have ended, the post-exam mood has set in and everything and then u take a peek at the calendar on your phone and find out in dismay that o-level chinese is 2 weeks and a few days away. oh dammit. poor poor me.

But hey, its 2 weeks and a few days away. And its chinese. Not chem or physics. so yay.

Today our principal dr ong decided to take some time off his busy schedule to review how the year3 cohort has done for eoys. so we went down the list, one subject by one subject. i think he set his expectations too high already, from what i've heard. or i could have heard wrongly, i was half asleep anyway. haha. as usual.

then i think at one point he bue tahan liao. i think the higher tamil students did quite badly this eoy, so he was the first to complain, 'U cant do tamil better switch to chinese or malay ah. all these jokers. very bad ah. i think we need to have a tamil concentration camp.' lolol, the way he said it made us laugh.

okay then there was chinese karaoke competition. 3.18s favourite chi teacher ong siew buay was one of the teachers taking part in the teachers' section. i think i can sort of rmb a few lines of the song she sang. looking forward to teasing her =)

our class was seated right behind, and the people in front were making so much noise that it was really no point in trying to pay attention luh. we tried to excuse ourselves early as most of us had to meet some teacher at 3, to have lunch and stuff. but mr jeffrey tan told us it was cancelled. then when it was finally time to go, beaurhys had to rub it in, "we're going to kap later. woohoo! while you're at band." >< finefine. but who said i'd go for band? =D

lol yupps. thats it. gonna check my facebook account now. and leave a few tags along the way i guess. buhbuh.

I have been really busy these days. Busy with games. =]

First of all, to kickstart this dead blog of mine, i would like to post my eoy results here. Good news is, i didn fail c maths. yay. okay so im going to give a quick quick breakdown of the marks now.

Lang arts: 74%
Paper 1: 19/25
Paper 2: (19-1)/25 - minus 1, for not writing a small little Q1. at the beginning of the paper. whats this man.

C Maths: 57+5%
Paper 1: 41/80
Paper 2: 50/80

Lotsa people failed this one, but the maths dean was nice enough to throw in 5 bonus marks for everyone, and to pull some people up from a fail to a pass at the same time of course. And there are also some people like manh hoang, who got a 100 for c maths. Wow.

A Maths: 82.5%
Paper 1: 74/80
Paper 2: 58/80

This one, really took me by surprise. Esp the paper 1. like ive never seen so many ticks on my a maths papers before. so yeah, it was really pleasing.

IHS: 63+4%
Paper 1: 11/15
Paper 2: 8/15

An additional 4 marks for our portfolios. Look at poor paper 2. Hmm. Ive nothing much to say here. I need to improve on my 'meta-cognitive' skills. You know, i still dont get it.

Physics: 70%
Paper 1: 31/40
Paper 2: 51/80

Okay, u can name the vietnamese scholars, and the indian scholars and the china scholars who excelled and did a fine job in this paper, but a 70 for physics means the world to me. ms au will be glad. i think. lol, i sound weird.

Chemistry: 75%
Paper 1: 30/40
Paper 2: 59+1/80

Nothing much to say here either. Except that i didn understand half of paper 1 (mol questions were everywhere!) so i resorted to using my guessing abilities and what do you know. hehe. yeah. not too bad i guess.

Goeg: 68%
Q2: 10/25
Q4: 24/25

Shucks i really hate myself. There were 4 questions to choose from. Q1-Q4. The plate tectonics question looked dam scary, so i jumped ship to q2, which was rivers and coastal processes if im not mistaken. Q4 was forests. 4b said. 'Draw a tropical rainforest with short notes' something like that. And I took so incredibly long to draw the forest. Yup, so i managed to get 4/4 for it. But then i panicked and couldnt think straight for q2. Sigh. Oh wells. Theres always a next time.

Okay, thats about it. I hope to be back soon. Now back to gaming =]

* oops forgot to put my name in front on the tags. just to make sure- okay so:
yangjin: for chongmin
dilkz: for dillon
mystery wabbit: for mystery wabbit
=]: for =]
xx: for xx
daryl: for daryl.

Days after eoys: 3

I was at school today having a kickabout with a couple of bandmates and some other random people. Had trouble waking up, so came abt 15 mins late. I think im rusty, need more match practice lol. Prateesh was v funny as usual, everything he does just makes us laugh. After a while prateesh and 2 others left to play dota and the game kinda like toned down a little. So the rest of us soon got bored and left too.

Then weng fong left us to watch prateesh play dota, joel had to leave and so david tai and i were wondering what to do next when davids brother called. ended up going to tai's house. i feel quite accomplished cos:

1) learnt some cs skills. david tai was going on and on about his supposed 'pro tactics', but he actually sounded quite pro when he was explaining the basics to me. he said the bots cant see through smoke, smoke from the smoke grenade obviously.

so playing as a terrorist, i reached the bomb site and planted the bomb. then i smoked the area and waited. the bots had to defuse the bomb or its game over, they inched closer bit by bit, attracted by the 'tick-tick' sound of the bomb. but of course, they had no idea that I was there. then within range of my rifle, i shot the bots and won the round. david actually was quite impressed and said, 'wo, i wanna try your method.' yay. im so smart haha. lols im praising myself. =]

2) learnt a new card game. take 4 cards off the top of the deck and try to form 24. u can add-subtract-X-divide-sq.-sq. root do whatever u can think of, without repetitions. say theres a 2 amongst the four cards u cant go 2+2+2+2+2... all the way to 24 like that. yeah u should get the idea. i think we were quite evenly matched. i think. after a while we resorted to using calculators lol.

3) learnt some poker skills. well, not a lot, cos my father had arrived, but its enough to get by. =] thanks david. wonder if the valentine's day letter on yr wall was from 'just a friend'? ^^

Exams are over! The fun begins. Now.

Saturday, October 4, 2008,9:27 AM

I see your big smile,
I'm so happy.
I see your big grin,
Smiling cheek to cheek.

I'm smiling cheek to cheek. :D

It's this really cool and cheerful song on tv, something about making yr house a happier place to live in. hm yeah, who wouldnt? =] sing it to yourself and things around you will start looking much brighter. Lol.

Darn, raikonnen didnt win, liverpool won 2-0 ( i predicted 2-1) and i didnt win the ferrari hat. aiya. nvm, better luck next time. x]
